Prolific, So Gifted!

Last weekend, during COVID, I had the pleasure of getting in the gym with the babies, it’s been a minute and I missed the grassroots scene. So I really enjoyed the opportunity to be at my brother Adrian’s event, #TheProlific2. My boy A had some of the best young ladies in the Southern region in attendance this weekend. From Oklahoma, he brought my homie AJ Hawkin’s club, Unity Basketball, Trae Young Elite was also in the building from Oklahoma.

From Texas we had Pro Skills, San Antonio finest, and the Urban Heroes just to name a few.

I was only able to make it on Sunday, but as Adrian told me, it was championship Sunday, and I was in for a treat. He’s not a liar.

Here are a couple of hoopers that stood out to me with their play on championship Sunday and dare I say, these four have power five potential:

Keeley Parks ‘25 (Trae Young Elite) – amazing in transition, scored all over the floor, showed advanced knowledge of the game, Played well with teammates

Bella Flemings ‘26 (SA Finest) – The most skilled seventh grader I’ve seen, scores all over the floor, vision, passes with both hands, tough!

Aaliyah Chavis ‘25 (Pro Skills) – savvy, skilled, vision, really enjoyed her swag and pace of play, hard to guard.

Avery Hjelmstad ‘25 (Unity Basketball) – Big skilled guard, made shots at all three levels, hit a huge three to win the game in a game where she made several, and her pace of play combined with size made her a nightmare.

I could fill the page up with names, but I want to focus on these four. I felt they were the most advanced on Sunday, again , they showed power five potential!

Can’t wait to see these young ladies grow and become the Power five players I’m telling you they will be.
